I've been coloring my hair to make it lighter for more than three years now. I'm a fan of Do-It-Yourself hair coloring products and I find it easy, safe (because I make it sure to follow the instructions written on the box packaging) and life saver especially in times of bad hair days. I also go to salons if I want to achieve a bolder color with the help of a professional stylist but there were times that I don't have the budget for it or I'm too busy because of mommy and daughter duties at home.
Are you itching to color your hair bold but contemplating because of limited resources? Watsons recently launched their "Color Your Hair Bold" initiative and wants to ease these worries of women by highlighting that hair coloring is not only fun, it is also safe, affordable and easy that everyone can do it at home, Now is the perfect time to spruce up your hair because bold colored hair is in! More details about the launch and sharing with you my new hair color below :)

If you have an Instagram account, prolly you've seen different hair colors and styles. The brighter and bolder, the merrier and trendier! But some Filipinas still cringe when DIY coloring is the topic among friends. Common discussion on this kind of hair coloring is the damage they may do to their hair, maintenance after the color, and other worries on the outcome of color on their locks. So last May 17, 2016 I was invited to the Watsons "Color Your Hair Bold" party that showcased hair as an essential fashion accessory to complete one's look.
Highlights of the event as follows:
1. The invited guests were treated with interactive hair colouring activities that helped them learn tips and tricks to color their own hair. Healthy hair will bring out the best color so use daily treatments suited for color-treated hair, and don't be afraid to sport bold color to level up your look and boost confidence :)

2. We were also educated about DIY hair coloring process from application, to post hair color regimen even to everyday styling techniques.
3. Highlight of the evening was the hair transformation of the 6 brave women who boldly changed their hair colors to match their individual styles.

4. There were also presentations from Lourd Ramos and other hair experts about proper hair coloring, styling and treatment. Aside from these, attendees were treated with more fashion tips as they listened to Celebrity Stylist Matt Gozun as he share his many insight on how to compliment fashion style with one's hair. As the event went on, Paolo Pineda's captured moments were presented in the background as hair inspirations and style pegs.
For my hair color, I've decided to make it lighter like the usual shade that I'd go for. If you're going to ask me to choose from dark blonde to light blonde, without second thoughts I'll choose the later. There are different brand of hair color available in Watsons like L'Oreal, Revlon, Bigen, Kolours, Lolane, Revia, and Beautylabo.

The brand that I've chosen that afternoon was Revia. I have not tried it yet so I was giddy to see the results after the coloring process. Revia Hair Color Cream will give you 100% 3D care color cream with protein extract from wheat that gives intense and long-lasting color. Available in following variant: Bright Blonde, Cherry, Dark Brown, Hazelnut and Platinum Blonde.

Since I've wanted to color my hair lighter, I gave the shade bright blonde a shot. Don't be intimidated by the hair color that you see on the box. You will not achieve that hair color without bleaching.

Since I'm not going to bleach my hair, a semi-toned but still light shade will be the result which I'd go for. Actually, that is my technique if I'm leaning towards lighter or brighter hair color- I'll color my hair with light shades, almost platinum for three consecutive session (in a span of 6 months) to achieve that almost true blond hair.

I haven't tried Revia yet, but I will! Thanks for sharing this :) I am also a big fan of DIY hair color. I have my hair professionally styled and colored for like only twice a year at Tony and Jackey. It is super mahal!
ReplyDeleteHi Marissa,
DeleteTry Revia, just be careful lang kasi medyo matapang but tolerable naman. What I like is hindi drying sa hair then glossy yung finish after coloring.
If I use blonde hair dye like Revlon on black hair, will it turn like, brown or even just dark brown?
ReplyDeleteHi Jessica,
DeleteIt will turn brown or dark brown if you have virgin black hair.
Have you tried re-applying to make your hair even lighter?or to atleast achieve the hair color of the box model? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi by Tiya,
DeleteI did not. It's not advisable unless you have thick hair strands. If you want to re-apply give at least two weeks for your hair din to rest.
hi ung pic nyo po b jn 3x n po yn nkulayan or yn po first result ng revia?
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteRegular po ako nagkukulay ng hair. Every 2 months po kaya light na masyado yung hair ko before this color.
